About
Birth Talk
There are moments in a woman's life
that are so incredibly passionate that the desire to discuss the event
runs high. The experience of birth and the experience of
breastfeeding are like that. Good or bad, just repeating the
story makes it real, makes it tangible. It solidifies the
experience and connects us with others.
For some, their birth or
breastfeeding story is empowering, liberating, healing and strong - a
positive experience. We all love to hear those! After all,
*these* are the types of births and breastfeeding stories that receive
widespread support and admiration from our friends and beyond!
For a lifetime, we are able to draw strength from the mere memory of
the event.
For others, the memory may be
confusing, details may be missing, freedom may have been restricted or
absent entirely, birth may have included more interventions than the
parents had wanted or breastfeeding may have failed miserably.
In these cases, the mother can be left with a birth or breastfeeding
experience they did not want and did not plan and cannot explain.
The passion, however, still remains.
This happens. It happens in
many cases and for many reasons. If you would like to share your
story and explore your path with an experienced obstetrical attendant
and board-certified lactation consultant, I would be honored to walk
with you for a while.
Growth occurs with
understanding.
Understanding occurs with Birth Talk. |
